Rifat Bin Saroar

Data Scientist

Rifat has achieved outstanding academic result from University of Adelaide in Advanced Computer Science (Data Science). He is a natural leader and an honorable member of Golden Key International Honour Society. He is also associated with Mensa Australia.

He is currently working for Defence Science and Technology (DST) as a Data Scientist. He has vast experiences using various tools and technologies, such as Python, C++, MatLab, HTML/CSS and JavaScript. As a data scientist, Rifat anaylises large amounts of data to develop hypotheses, make inferences, and analyze customer and market trends. He has been using cutting edge tools and technologies to gathering and analyzing data, using various types of analytics and reporting tools to detect patterns, trends and relationships in data sets.

Rifat has  completed several projects during his study. A few of those projects includes:

Genetic improvement of software: using static checkers to avoid 2021

  • Developed a framework that utilizes static checker PMD to predict code compile status without compiling.
  • Resulted in finding a direct correlation between static checker report and compiler status.
  • Learned skills important in academic writing and programming in Java.

Website for task/chore roster system 2020

  • Designed and developed a task roster system for shared spaces in a web application.
  • Developed website and learned numerous programming languages: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Live Side Channel attack reconnaissance 2020

  • Performed a systematic study optimising the process of the eviction set creation.
  • Detected room for improvement in reconnaissance performance in the code base.
  • Executed successful side channel attack allowed to have deeper understanding of interaction between hardware and software of the operating system.
